I have two words: Jack Black. He is, simply put, a genius. It seems that he can take any dumb idea and make it work, and this is no exception. Of course, some credit must go to Richard Linklater whose films I generally enjoy, and Mike White, the writer, whose idea isn't nearly as dumb as it sounds at first. All in all, in less talented hands, this movie could have really sucked. Instead, it was extremely funny. There's also a little nose thumbing at the established Hollywood ending that I enjoyed, but you've got to look closely or you'll miss it.
